Kristin L. Clinard, MS, CGC Genetic Counselor & Clinical Instructor University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Division of Genetics and Metabolism, Department of Pediatrics

Kristin is a board-certified genetic counselor and Clinical Instructor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. She provides genetic counseling services in the Department of Pediatrics for General Genetics and Metabolism.

Cynthia Powell, MD Professor of Pediatrics and Genetics & Director of Medical Genetics Residency Program University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Division of Genetics and Metabolism, Department of Pediatrics

Dr. Cynthia Powell is a Professor of Pediatrics and Genetics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. She is a board-certified clinical geneticist, cytogeneticist, pediatrician and genetic counselor and has been a practicing pediatric geneticist at UNC for twenty-four years.

 

Beth Boyea, MS Certified Genetic Counselor RTI International, Center for Newborn Screening, Ethics, and Disability Studies

Beth Boyea has over ten years of experience providing genetic counseling for families in both prenatal and pediatric genetics clinics at UNC Chapel Hill. She is certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and the American Board of Genetic Counseling.

Anne Wheeler, PhD Licensed Neurodevelopmental Psychologist RTI International, Center for Newborn Screening, Ethics, and Disability Studies

Dr. Anne Wheeler, is a senior public health researcher in the RTI Center for Newborn Screening, Ethics, and Disability Studies and a licensed psychologist on faculty at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  Dr. Wheeler has more than 20 years of clinical and research experience focusing on behavior, medical, and development profiles of individuals with special needs. She has worked both independently and collaboratively with other leaders in the field, focusing primarily on behavioral and social/emotional development and temperament in young children, family and maternal well-being, and developmental outcomes for children with developmental disabilities, especially those with associated with genetic syndromes or infectious disease (FMR1 mutations including fragile X syndrome (FXS), Prader-Willi Syndrome, Angelman Syndrome, Congenital Zika Syndrome).

Katherine "Casey" Okoniewski, PhD Psychologist RTI International, Center for Newborn Screening, Ethics, and Disability Studies

Casey Okoniewski is an adjunct psychologist with the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities. She is a licensed psychological associate with specialization in assessment and intervention for infants and families birth-to-five experiencing health and psychosocial risk.
